Windows to a Linux desktop they like better, in just 3 or 4 hours
Linux config files are where switching gets painful. Claude helped them pick Fedora, answered every setup question and had Claude Code write the scripts they'd never have bothered with.
Spotted: found in the wild. Details are as reported by the source above and have not been independently verified.
What they did
Chatted with Claude about the move to find the best distribution and settled on Fedora. After installing it, asked how to configure everything they wanted, and had Claude Code write a batch of scripts they’d never have got round to writing.
How it went
Straight answers took the pain out of editing Linux config files. In 3 or 4 hours they had a setup more comfortable than the one they’d had on Windows.
Try it yourself with Claude
I'm moving from Windows to Linux. I use my computer for [work, apps, games, hardware]. Recommend a distribution and say why, then give me a step-by-step setup checklist. For each thing I want to configure ([list]), give me the exact commands or config file changes and explain how to undo them.

WhatsApp has no native way to schedule messages, and the writer didn't want third-party apps in their chats. Claude Code built a scheduler using a headless browser, and a recurring message now goes out every morning.
An unwieldy pile of Claude chats sent the writer looking for an organizer extension, but the only one they found was Chrome-only. Claude built one from scratch for Firefox instead.
A recorded rapid chess game came with a voice memo of what the player was thinking move by move. Claude drove Stockfish to question each thought and built a narrated video explaining the mistakes.
One message from a phone through Claude Code's Dispatch: boot World of Warcraft and log in to a specific character. Claude Code opened Battle.net, launched the game, waited out the login and picked the character.
Apple's built-in capture can't record the Mac's system audio, OBS felt clunky and Kap seemed untrustworthy. So they asked Claude to build a native app that did exactly what they needed. It took 4 minutes.
