A statistician's app for their kids went from idea to MVP in about 3 hours
Thousands of words of planning on their phone over the holidays, then Claude Code built it. It forgot one key feature until asked, and their son's reaction was one of the best looks they've had.

What they did
Over the holidays, planned an app for their children with Claude on mobile; the plan grew into several thousand words of documents covering the MVP, the technical stack and the layout. Then built it with Claude Code on the Pro plan, making it write a test suite and debugging output, and working from a clear to-do list.
How it went
Their credits ran out in about 3 hours, but they got to an MVP, and their son’s reaction was one of the best looks they’ve ever had from him. Claude forgot one central feature at first, and built it when asked.
Try it yourself with Claude
I want to build an app for my [age]-year-old that [what it does]. Before any code, interview me about what it must do, then write a short plan covering the MVP features, the tech stack and the screen layout. Keep a TODO.md and work through it in order. Write tests for each feature and add clear debug logging to the front end and the back end.

After $45 in GitHub Actions overage in one month, a solo founder put an idle homelab to work as CI runners, with Claude making it easy to set up. Daily spend dropped from $2-4 a day to under $0.25.
A first homemade synth has 36 hall-effect keys and buttons and 7 rotary encoders. The firmware started by hand, then gentle prodding at Claude got everything needed much faster. Rev 2 of the PCB is nearly done.
Markdown files should just open, so they asked Claude Code for a viewer. It opens instantly: faster, they say, than any other macOS app, and faster than Bitwarden's Chrome extension shows its fill menu.
Migrating a password reset flow, Claude Code and Opus produced code on par with a mid level developer. It needed close supervision throughout, and cost roughly 2 months of Pro subscription for about half a day's work.
Working on a Quake project, Claude decided on its own to build a test suite: demo playbacks with snapshots compared pixel by pixel, plus recorded demos whose screenshots it checked for each element.
A URL shortener side project ran on AWS. Claude Code wrote the GitHub Actions workflows for the move and fixed each failure as it came up. The writer reports zero downtime.
