A homemade agent turns vet charges into ready-to-send insurance claims
Vet bills mean a paper chase of card charges, emailed invoices and insurer forms. A homemade agent matches each charge to its Gmail invoice, fills the claim form with Gemini's help and stages a draft. A person hits send.

What they did
Built for one household with two dogs and two pet insurers, the system watches a manually uploaded bank statement for vet charges, searches Gmail for the matching invoice, and uses Gemini to extract the invoice details and fill the insurer’s PDF claim form. It stages a ready-to-send Gmail draft rather than sending anything itself, and a household member reviews and sends each one by hand.
How it went
The system’s own invoice-request emails once false-matched 12 claims before a fix excluded outgoing mail, and re-reading an old acknowledgement once walked a settled claim backward for two claims in July before a state-machine fix stopped it. Across all ten live approval letters, one check matched the insurer’s own figures to the cent while the other had questions about five of them.
Try it yourself with Custom agent
Build a personal agent that watches your bank statement for a recurring category of charge, such as [vet visits], searches your email for the matching invoice, extracts the needed fields with [an LLM such as Gemini], fills the relevant PDF claim form, and stages a ready-to-send email draft in your inbox for you to review and send yourself, rather than sending anything automatically.

A Raspberry Pi rides in the car and runs a local AI model that answers spoken questions through the car's own speakers, even with the internet switched off. It also posts engine faults into the household chat room.
Gmail, calendar, maps, contacts, alarms: their homemade agent controls them all, and even taps through Telegram for them using the phone's accessibility service. All data stays on the phone.
Too much news, too little time. They built an agent that sends a daily summary so nothing important slips past, and that digest is what pointed them to the thread where they shared it.
